The Event Rentals Unlimited and Tents Unlimited Atlanta team recently had the opportunity to be a part of this year’s Microsoft Ignite ‘final night’ conference event, produced by Atlanta-based Destination South Meetings & Events. The event, titled ‘Camp Microsoft Ignite,’ was hosted across the entire Centennial Park property, accommodating more than 15,000 developers, customers, partners, and technology experts that attended the five-day conference. This spectacular outdoor event, with lots of ‘camp’ themed fun, offered the large audience of guests entertainment, catering and networking activities that were not to be missed. ERU Atlanta was thrilled to be a part of this exciting evening by providing the inventory of: tents, folding chairs, director chairs, tables and more. It was an evening that sparked a great evening around the campfire for all who attended.

It’s that time of year again….time for Birmingham’s annual Maestro’s Ball! A much anticipated event, the Maestro’s Ball is Alabama Symphony Orchestra‘s largest fundraising event – supporting the ASO’s artistic, educational and outreach programs. We’re honored that Event Rentals Unlimited has been a part of this event for many years…including this year’s September celebration!
Held once again at the University of Alabama at Birmingham’s Alys Stephens Performing Arts Center, it was a beautiful evening full of music that reflected Conductor Carlos Izcaray’s Venezuelan latin background. The night kicked off with a celebratory champagne reception that led into a symphonic concert in the Jemison Concert Hall. This year’s event was the second Maestro’s Ball for ASO’s conductor, Carlos Izcaray. Following the concert guests were invited to enjoy a reception on the grounds tented by Event Rentals Unlimited and catered by Hot and Hot Fish Club.
At this year’s fundraiser ERU provided the event tent, tables, Driftwood chairs and many more tabletop and catering inventory items. Arden Photography was front and center capturing all the evening’s beautiful moments. And out doing themselves once again was Wildflowers Designs – who’s work was simply stunning! Kudos to another great creative team for this event…we’re already looking forward to the 2017 Maestro’s Ball!
We’ve found that event seating and the flow of an event is almost as important as the event itself. Often times a person doesn’t really know what kind of seating they’ll need. Becky, how did you first get into weddings?
I graduated from college with a Hotel and Restaurant Management degree. I stumbled upon this degree, because I really didn’t know what I wanted to do with my life! After college, I worked for a country club in the Atlanta area as a Director of Catering and loved the fact that my every day was someone else’s best day of their lives. That’s when I fell in love with weddings!
What’s your favorite thing about being in the wedding industry?
My favorite thing is being able to educate the engaged couple on the wedding industry and in turn, establish a personal connection with them and build a trusting relationship. Weddings can be stressful and I am here to try to alleviate as much stress as possible, by guiding them and offering suggestions. By building a relationship, many that turn into friendships, I have met so many wonderful people through this industry.
What is unique about Event Rentals Unlimited?
Innovation and creativity – we pride ourselves on producing a wedding that others say “it can’t be done.” We like to say, “if you can dream it, we can build it.” We push our staff to think out of the box, while never sacrificing customer service.
What rental pieces does Event Rentals Unlimited offer?
We offer many different style tents – frame tents, pole tents, sailcloth tents, high peak tents, the list goes on. Along with this, we offer tables, chairs, lighting, drapery, lounge furniture, catering equipment, china, glassware, flatware, chargers, dance floors…again, the list goes on!
Do you offer additional services, such as set-up or break-down?
We do! We offer turn-key event services – we want to take the worry out of your event!
What is the first question you ask when you sit down with a couple?
I always ask what their vision is for their event and what is important to them on their big day. It’s important to me and my staff to fully understand the couple’s vision. Do you want it to be fun? Romantic? Casual? Upscale? Or one rockin’ party? I want to be able to offer the best options for my engaged couple to make the day THEIR special day.
What’s the biggest mistake that engaged couples can make when choosing their rentals?
Trying to do too much yourself. I get it – everyone has a budget. But, when you have to worry about your brother’s friend picking up the chairs for your ceremony the Friday before your wedding or borrowing a few pop-up tents from your neighbor and realizing they don’t have them the morning of your wedding…just let the professionals handle it. I can promise you it will be money well spent and your wedding will go off without a hitch!
What should a couple be looking for when they choose their rental company?
Quality of rentals is very important. Ask to take a tour of the rental company’s showroom and warehouse. We encourage all of our clients to do this, not only to show you our inventory, but we want you to see us in action – how we store our rentals, how we take care of them, etc. We don’t want you to just be an email address – we want to see you in person and show you our great rentals that we have to offer!
What are a couple of your favorite Birmingham wedding venues to work with?
This is a hard question, because it depends on so many things, such as your vision, number of people, time of year, etc. There are so many great venues in town, but just to name a few – BridgeStreet Gallery and Loft, The Barn at Shady Lane, The Sonnet House, Iron City, Yellow Branch Plantation, Swann Lake Stables, Windwood Equestrian, and so many more! And, don’t forget about your own backyard. A tent with some great rentals can make the perfect venue!
Any other advice for couples deciding on a rental company?
Any rental company can rent you a chair. Any rental company can rent you a table. But, not every rental company can form a bond and a relationship with the engaged couple. Choose a rental company that not only has high quality product that you are looking for, but choose a company that you feel comfortable with and is truly invested in what you want your big day to be about.
