FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE ON APRIL 1, 2016 – Atlanta based company, Event Rentals Unlimited, has recently made the decision moving forward to rent puppies at both their Atlanta and Birmingham locations. At first the need was met with some degree of skepticism by some managers. The suggestion had been made from several clients and special event planners around the city but the logistics seemed insurmountable. Now, after extensive research a path forward for this new rental opportunity has been fleshed out.
With the increasing popularity of such successful startups like the Meow Parlour in New York City and The Dog Cafe, a “coffee shop where you’ll be completely surrounded by dogs — small, big, quiet, crazy, young, old, all sorts of dogs,” Event Rentals Unlimited recognizes the need and has pledged to fill that need for a clamoring community.
The rental dogs can be reserved for one-time special events or as long as two weeks for longer event productions or just as a treat around the office. Over the years pet experts have pointed to the value of “pet therapy” and that even in short doses aids in stress recovery – which many in the events industry are in need of. Additionally the benefits of pet ownership have been proven to extend life and add to wellness. The idea of adding pet rental to Event Rentals Unlimited’s services was an easy decision. There seems no better way for clients to reap the benefits while not taking on commitment or long term responsibility.
During the launch of ERU’s puppy rental program only 3 breeds of dogs will be offered. The staff’s claws really came out during the selection of the final breeds chosen. Arnie Seyden, Event Rental Unlimited’s top dog, made the final call that a small, medium and large breed selection would be offered. Though some lobbied for an extra-large offering by way of the Great Dane, and while the space is there in ERU’s new Atlanta warehouse at 1450 Hills Place NW, the need for such an extra-large size was not supported by client survey results. Alternately, Birmingham client requests resulted in high demand for the Peekapoo which are bred to sit on your lap and be your best friend.
Pricing for the pooches will depend on the size of dog and time of rental but also by size of event. This new arm of the rental industry has many in the pet community excited and everyone is convinced of the barking great concept that’s just perfect for April Fool’s Day!
