Traditionally the wedding rehearsal dinner is held the night before the wedding and is a wonderful way to say thank you to the friends and family that will be part of the wedding ceremony.

Many times the groom’s family will plan and host the rehearsal dinner. The rehearsal dinner can be held in a local restaurant, at someone’s home or another venue that is comfortable for your guests. Be considerate and pick a location close to the rehearsal site. When planning the dinner take into consideration your guest ages. If you have small children in your wedding party you may not want to host your dinner in a quiet, formal setting. The dinner should have a set time for it to wind down do that everyone can get plenty for rest before the wedding festivities.

* Clear Mirage Chairs *

Rental chairs come in a variety of styles – the most versatile of which is the folding chair. Folding chairs can be rented with or without pads – in colors of black, white, gray, and various wood tones. They are primarily made of wood (garden chairs) or resin, but may also be made of aluminum, stainless steel, polypropylene or plastic (Samsonite chairs). A nice feature for the folding chair is that it’s typically made for both indoor and outdoor use.

The Chiavari chair is a high-end chair characterized by two bars that run between its legs in the front and on the sides. Deriving its name from Chiavari, Italy, these chairs are perfect for creating an elegant and traditional look for your event. Most prestigiously used as dining chairs in the White House, Chiavari chairs can be rented in a variety of colors including black, white, gold, silver, wood tones and even clear (yes clear resin!). Although, Chiavari chairs are a little more expensive than your basic folding or banquet chair it’s not necessary to cover them with linens (like you might do with other types of seating). Other rental options include the metal structured and traditional Chameleon chair and the modern acrylic clear Mirage chair.

When renting chairs for your event, be sure to take into consideration how the chair will be used. They come in varying heights that make them comfortable for a particular activity, such as dining as opposed to sitting –  padded seats offer extra comfort to wedding or dinner guests who might sit for a long time. The amount of weight a chair can support varies as well. Some chairs have weight limits of 300 pounds, whereas others can support as much as 500+ pounds.

With such a variety of choices selecting a chair can sometimes be a challenge. So, what’s important? What should you ask? A good vendor will be excited to share information and examples with you. After all, you’re excited about your event; they should be too. So start with the facts:

• Where are they located?

• How long have they been in business?

• Are they fully insured?

• Is the quote they provided detailed and easy to read?

• Can they show you a portfolio of their work?

• What about providing references?

Don’t be afraid to ask questions and for more information if you don’t understand a response. Failure to not cover all bases could result in some surprises on your final bill. For example, be sure to ask about fees and time perimeters for drop-off of inventory vs. set up and dismantle of inventory. Ask if your rentals vendor has worked with your selected venue before – if so, all the better! Chances are they know each other and work together well. The rentals vendor will already be acquainted with the venue’s rules and regulations.

Most rental vendors will vary delivery fees depending on three things:  location of the delivery; day of the week; and time of day for both delivery and pickup. Be sure to ask for all delivery and pick up pricing options. And once you’ve settled on the delivery and pick up schedule be sure those fees are listed in your rentals contract.

Know what’s available to you by asking for a full list of inventory. While using more than one vendor to supply all your party needs is certainly an option – it’s often a better scenario if you can rent everything from one vendor which makes set up and takedown faster and easier. By renting from one supplier, you will save yourself time and research, money and a lot of stress.

Lastly, stop by your rental vendor’s warehouse and take a look at the inventory for yourself. Most rental vendors allow warehouse tours upon appointment – however an unannounced visit can be all the more telling. Take note on cleanliness, organization of inventory and processes for fulfilling reservations. How a company stores and manages their product is a great interpretation of what the product will look like upon delivery.

All of the above things are important when shopping for an event rentals supplier. You should be confident in your suppliers, knowing they will provide excellent products and service in a timely manner. With the right vendors on your side, your guests will be ooohing and aaahing long after the evening’s festivities have ended.
